Our Team

Our work has created a network of community organizations, members, and academics to support community-led projects and promote ongoing collaboration between the scientific community and the general public. These connections will ensure that the research conducted through PRIME is relevant to Manitoban families and easily shared with the community.

Community Advisory Board

We value a diversity of voices when working to support families, co-create research, and advocate for the wellness needs of our Manitoba community. Now, we are bringing together an advisory board to help guide this work and advise on collaborative research. We have developed sub councils to advise on Indigenous and immigrant community-related topics and have hopes of expanding to other specific areas such as perinatal mental health, supports needs for neurodiverse children, and youth wellness.

  • Meet at least once a year (virtual option offered).

  • Work together to identify priorities for research.

  • Advise on ethics submissions.

  • Share ideas on how to communicate well with others in the community.

  • Give feedback on how projects are going.

  • Join smaller groups that meet once every three months.

What will this Board do?

Discussions focus on advocacy for mental health, knowledge dissemination, and advising on projects related to family mental health and community building. The values of this initiative are advocacy, representation, connection, learning, and driving systemic change.

Indigenous Advisory Council

We are now establishing an advisory council to guide and advise on collaborative research that focuses on the unique needs and priorities of immigrant families and their mental health in Manitoba. Discussions will include working together to identify priorities for research that benefit immigrant family mental health & well-being, identifying immigrant families’ research priorities, and sharing ideas on how to best communicate with others in the immigrant community. This council is open for new members to register.

Immigrant Advisory Council

The Indigenous Advisory Committee was developed to understand wellness priorities & best practices in collaborative research with Indigenous families. This committee includes 30 members and is open for new members to register. The IAC  aims to engage in project development, advocacy, and dissemination to inform respectful practices in working with Elders, knowledge keepers, and families with lived experience managing mental health.
