Community Survey

We are bringing together a community of Manitobans who care about improving mental health for children, youth, and families to help us understand how eHealth resources can help or hinder family wellness. The PRIME community survey helps us connect with people who share this passion, including those from industry community organizations, government, academia, and the general community. By sharing knowledge and building partnerships across the province, we hope to enhance wellness for families in Manitoba and beyond.

Priority Setting Research

This study seeks to understand families’ experiences and priorities regarding mental health and eHealth programs. We conducted 10 focus groups reflecting diverse experiences, to discuss mental health program needs and perspectives on the use of technology to support mental health. Focus groups reflected youth, parents and guardians, Indigenous community members, and newcomers perspectives. To aid discussion, we used creative arts-based methods to understand experiences and to create visual representations of each focus group discussion.

Building Emotional Awareness and Mental Health (BEAM)

BEAM is an app-based program to promote family mental health and reduce parenting stress. Co-designed by parents & clinicians, BEAM connects members to an online forum, peer coaches, and expert-led videos. Parents identify key values to build the life they want to live, with a community who understands just how tough parenting can be.

Building Regulation In Dual Generations (BRIDGE)

BRIDGE is a 16-week program designed to support the mental health and parenting needs of mothers managing depression and their children. BRIDGE includes weekly group telehealth sessions and access to Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)-based psychoeducational videos and worksheets to build emotion-focused parenting skills, with the goal of improving family mental health and relationships. Mothers also fill out short surveys each week to track their progress.

LightBEAM

LightBEAM is a massive open online intervention that is currently under development. It will be an open e-mental health and parenting program which shares the content created for BEAM, and will be open for all parents to participate.
